Carol Johnson, the Bread lady
“Then Jesus declared, ‘I tell you the truth, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world’”. John 6:32-33
“Bread. Bake bread.”
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a
voice behind you saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it’”. Isaiah 30:21
“Bake bread, Lord? But, I’ve had a successful business career. I’m
single and need to support myself. Goodness, I’ve been to medical
school! Lord, have you seen my resume? I need to make a living, not bake
bread for my neighbors.”
“Precisely, Carol. I want you to bake bread for your neighbors.”
Carol Johnson, a native of Atlanta, found herself searching for career
direction at the age of 39. After closing the door to a successful
medical sales career, she needed to change directions, but she had no
idea about her next steps. A “For Sale” sign went up in front of her
lovely home in Buckhead, a prestigious community in Atlanta, Georgia.
With time on her hands, she signed up for a bread baking class. She had
no clue that this would be the first step of an extraordinary journey in
her life.
Carol started baking bread in her own kitchen. The immediate health
benefits she received included weight loss, relief from constipation,
increased energy level, and normal menstrual cycles. As she gave the
bread to friends and family, her phone began to ring off the hook. Not
only was the bread delicious, other people were receiving many health
benefits, as well. Three years later, she appeared on national TV, the
700 Club and found herself shipping bread, packaged with scriptures,
across the nation. Just as the yeast rose daily in her bread, her vision
and her passion for health and prevention of disease through diet rose.
She felt God calling her to open a Christian coffee house and bookstore
to reach people in her affluent neighborhood. So in 1999, Carol founded
Full Cup Ministry. A vision of that magnitude certainly required the
empowerment of God.
Even today, Carol’s vision continues to expand and the hand of God has
guided her journey. Carol Johnson knew the voice of God. So when He
whispered, “Bake bread,” she lit the oven! The yeast is rising daily,
the loaves are multiplying at an astonishing rate, and people are being
healed. She consistently experiences an important truth: Favor follows
obedience. Blessings unfold as God’s daughter says’ yes’ to Him.
